Speedo swimmers reign supreme at the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) breaking 17 World Records

78% all medals won at the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) were in Speedo suits!

Manchester's MEN arena was packed to capacity for the final night of the 9th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) and the crowd was treated to yet more spectacular performances.

Speedo's Sanja Jovanovic was the first swimmer of the evening to break a World Record in a Speedo LZR Racer. Smashing the existing record with a time of 26:37, the Croatian has now recorded the 3 fastest swims in the history of the event.

Austria's Markus Rogan claimed Gold in the Men's 200m Backstroke, shattering the existing World Record by over a second with a new time of 1:47.84. Punching the air, the Austrian was clearly thrilled with his performance.

Winner of the 9th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) Men's trophy, the USA's Ryan Lochte who has been on sensational form this week, claimed a further Gold medal in the Men's 200m Backstroke. Breaking his own World Record set in qualification at a time of 51:15. Meanwhile, Great Britain's Liam Tancock added a Bronze medal to his collection of Gold and Silver already gained during this meet, Tancock said "I'm over the moon it's been a great week."

Wearing the LZR Racer, Felicity Galvez of Australia, broke yet another World Record in the Women's 100m Butterfly to win Gold. Registering a time of 55:89, Galvez becomes the second person to go under the 56 second mark in this event.

More records tumbled in the Women's 50m Freestyle, with the Netherlands's Marleen Veldhuis setting a new time of 23:25, winning her 4th gold medal of the week!

New Zealand's Moss Burmester dominated the Men's 200m Butterfly, setting a new Championship Record in a time of 1:51.05 - claiming New Zealand's only Gold of the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m).

Great Britain's David Davies received an enormous amount of encouragement from the home crowd throughout the Men's 1500m Freestyle and was cheered on to take Silver at a time of 14:36.30. Speaking of the crowd's support Davies said "It's unbelievable I've never been anywhere like it before."

To the further delight of the crowd, Great Britain?s Caitlin McClatchey, claimed Bronze in the Women's 200m Freestyle.

The final event of the FINA 9th World Swimming Championships (25m) was the Men's 4x100m Medley Relay. Speedo sponsored Team USA took Silver in a time of 3:24.38 in their Speedo LZR Racers. Great Britain's relay team thanked the crowds for their support and paid recognition to Manchester for hosting the best ever championships "You've been fantastic."
